1. What is Compassionate Communication?

Compassionate Communication, also known as Non-violent Communication, is a communication style that prioritizes empathy, respect and understanding. The aim of this approach is to promote effective and positive communication between people, while reducing conflict, misunderstandings and judgment.

Recommended for:

Recommended for anyone who wishes to improve their personal relationships at home in the workplace and in the world. By using language that is respectful and empathetic, we can create more harmonious and gratifying relationships with others.

2. Description

Compassionate Communication involves four key components: observation, feelings, needs, and requests. By focusing on these elements, people can communicate their needs and feelings in a way that is clear, honest and non-threatening.

The concept of Compassionate Communication was developed by psychologist Marshall Rosenberg, and is based on the idea that all human beings have a universal set of needs, such as safety, love, and belonging. When we communicate in a compassionate way, we become more attuned to the needs and feelings of others, and are better able to meet them. Compassionate Communication can be used in personal relationships, the workplace and even in public discourse.
